In the year 1191, the winds of change sweep through the kingdom, and the once-proud house of Peveril stands on the brink of collapse. Amidst the chaos, an enigmatic new sheriff of Nottingham emerges with his motives shrouded in mystery. As tensions rise and loyalties are tested, the fate of the Peveril family hangs in the balance, and they must summon all their courage and cunning to survive in a world where honor is a luxury few can afford.
Meet the Peverils
They are the faded glory of a once great house, now unravelling.

Lady Eleanor Peveril
As an unwed daughter, she knows she may hold the key to the barony's growth. But the household of her revered eldest brother isn't the only one which shaped her. She wishes to look forward, but Prince John is back in the High Peak and he's brought the past with him.

What could bring the most loyal daughter of the Peveril house to abandon what remains of her family?

Sir William "Robin" Peveril
The youngest child and only surviving son of the House of Peveril. His mother hinted most of his life that he would best serve the family as a clergyman, but his brothers and mother are dead, his father is old, and he thinks he might actually have a path to power and influence.

How far is he willing to go for glory? Will he accept his family for their failings and flourish with them? Or will he malign everyone until he has nowhere to turn but the wood?

Lord Roger Peveril
Once a fearsome knight of King Henry II, he finds that many of his allies are either dead or replaced by younger men. He was a devoted father to all his children, except the two which remain at his side. He feels like a relic until an old friend blows in for the tourney.

There a fresh wounds to patch but it is the ancient scars that are in need of the greatest attention.
